Home Page with News and Feature Template

A dynamic template that delivers a range of information categories to your users and can be easily and quickly updated by non-technical staff, to ensure that information is up to date.

List Pages in Sections -

Enables content to be introduced to website users in a 'grouped' manner. This is achieved by the template displaying page headings and introductory text then a media item for each web page that is hierarchically immediately beneath it.

Contact Lists -

Contacts are created and stored in the article repository, for deployment on the website as required. Contacts can be individually added to web pages. This template enables the display of multiple contacts such as a departmental contact list, on a single page. ,

Contact Us/ Feedback forms -

Allows you to list contacts as well as providing a feedback form for any comments users may want to electronically submit.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) -

Websites and blogs use the RSS format to syndicate and distribute frequently updated content via news aggregators. Syndication benefits both users and publishers by helping users consume more information – so instead of visiting multiple web sites to see what's new, users can scan headlines or article summaries and click to read the full text. Some publishers also make their entire content (whether full-text or audio/video) available for users to access via RSS and view in other applications. It's "really simple" for publishers to make content available in this format.

General Content -

A general-purpose template, typically used widely across websites for the display of information including text, graphics, media items, related pages, related features, polls, contacts, related forms and external links

Download Template -

Allows the display of multiple downloadable media items such as PDF's, word docs, JPEGs etc.

Site Search -

Based on iCM's Lucene-based engine, the search functionality has been extended from the core to offer users additional refined searching. Key benefits include:

  • Powerful, accurate and efficient search algorithms
  • Ranked searching - best results returned first
  • Many powerful query types; phrase, wildcard, proximity, range queries and more
  • Search results manipulation
  • Field searching (e.g. title, author, contents)
  • Date-range searching
  • Sorting by any field
  • Multiple-index searching with merged results
  • Allows simultaneous update and searching'

Page Search Engine Optimisation -

The Search Boost is used to influence the position of an article when it is returned in a set of search results. Access to the Search Boost facility for articles is provided to contributors via the "Search Optimisation" articles privilege. Two mechanisms, boost value and boosted keywords, are provided to influence the position of an article when it is returned in a set of search results.

Site Map

iCM Freedom features a dynamically generated map of all live pages. This means that the site map will reflect precisely the hierarchical structure of the websites' navigation. Pages are automatically added to the site map as they are created and are live to the website. Links enable users to move directly from the map to any selected page. Multiple site maps can easily be created and deployed, enabling sections of the website, such as departments or information areas, to be mapped.

Polls -

The templates enable the managed publication and display of polls created and stored in iCM.  These polls can display simple yes/no answers or a list of multiple choice answers.

Links -

A link is the name given to an item of content that will offer your site visitor a choice to go to an external website. It is an area that you can use to add non-textual content to the website. The location of the links on the webpage is determined by individual specifications and the design ideals of the website, using the template for details on its placement

Metadata Tagging -

Metadata is descriptive data that allows a piece of content to be indexed, retrieved or processed.  Metadata means 'data about data' i.e. information about particular content.  Metadata tags are information inserted into the "head" area of your web pages. Other than the title tag, information in the head area of your web pages is not seen by those viewing your pages in browsers. Instead, meta information in this area is used to communicate information that a human visitor may not be concerned with. Meta tags, for example, can tell a browser what "character set" to use or whether a web page has rated itself in terms of adult content.

TRACKVIEWER -

Our comprehensive web-content tool for reporting and analysis enables site administrators and managers to identify the strengths, weaknesses and routes to their site with ease. TRACKVIEWER tracks, reports and analyses the traffic to your website, immediately revealing the most popular and least visited content in addition to the routes visitors take to reach you. TRACKVIEWER also reports on visiting search engine robots and spiders
